Poverest Adult Education Centre may become new homes

Bromley Council has a fantastic programme to build more homes for local people. To date they have chosen 8 “manageable sites”, plots that could be redeveloped without overcoming huge obstacles. They could deliver close to 300 new homes. The local authority has also said they will explore plans to redevelop Poverest Adult Education Centre from 2027 to potentially create more homes. We want to look at the latter here, then if you need some help with guaranteed rent in Bromley, we are here for you.

Change in services

Guaranteed rent BromleyPoverest Adult Education Centre is a great asset for the local area, offering a variety of courses for local people. There are plenty of options, including courses in art, counselling, languages, digital skills, and more. The goal is to empower locals and help them to learn, feel part of a community, and also improve their employability.

While Poverest Adult Education Centre is fantastic, Bromley Council is changing how they deliver services in the future. As a result, the various courses will be available at different locations, including Kentwood Adult Education Centre and various libraries. So, in the future the Poverest site will be vacant.

Redevelopment

With the site becoming available from 2027, Bromley Council is beginning to explore plans for it. Anyone with an interest can view the proposals here. There are also engagement sessions taking place today (27th Oct), Wednesday (29th) and Saturday (1st Nov) at Poverest Primary School. It could be a fantastic transformation. We love to see these kinds of projects, and arrange guaranteed rent in Bromley for all kinds of investors.

Bromley Council is proposing a £23.7m redevelopment of the Poverest Road site to create 44 new homes. They will be a mix of sizes, including 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms. A total of 5 homes will be accessible. Interestingly, all properties will have a private garden. Even more importantly, they will all be affordable, providing more housing for local residents on the housing register.

The redevelopment will include a number of other key things too. For example, there will be parking for residents, electric car charging points, and cycle storage. The plans will retain trees on the site and create new public green space. Crucially, it will provide an impressive net biodiversity gain. Accessibility and connections to neighbouring areas will also be improved.

Comments

Yvonne Bear, Bromley Council’s Executive Cllr for Renewal, Recreation, and Housing said they are “continuing to bring forward plans” to create more high quality homes. She encourages locals to find out more about the proposals and give feedback.
