Ealing Council’s park proposal

Parks can be some of the best assets for areas. They can have a massive transformative effect on locations, just look at the impact of Elizabeth II Park in East London. Investing in them can help the environment and the economy. We want to have a look at a new interesting proposal for West London. Then if you want to arrange guaranteed rent in Ealing, you can speak to us.

Connecting green spaces

Guaranteed Rent EalingEaling Council recently announced an ambitious new plan to improve the natural environment in the area. What they want to do is create a mosaic of green spaces across the borough that all connect. It will encompass an array of different habitats, including meadows and woodland, as well as wetland, and lakes, rivers, and ponds.

The proposal comes at a time when the population of Ealing is expected to increase by 56,000 over the coming years. The estimation is it will rise from the current 344,000 to 400,000 by 2031. This will dramatically increase the need for green open space for people to relax and stay active. The new plan would help provide it. In addition, it could make the area a more attractive one for investors who want to live somewhere with easy access to greenery. We would love to help these people, offering guaranteed rent in Ealing and more.

Details

The proposal has some interesting ideas to help make this a regional park that could transform west London. For example, there would be an expansion of Brent River Park and more connections.

One thing the Council will prioritise is rewilding. The goal here is to restore nature using a progressive approach. The most impressive thing is successful rewilding allows areas to ultimately become self sustaining. It also naturally attracts wildlife and improves habitats.

There is an idea to close Perivale Golf Course and then rewild it. This would be a massive change to the current site which, like all golf courses, is carefully manicured. The closure and rewilding would offer a new space for the public to use.

Warren Farm

There is one part of the plan that is generating some concern though. Warren Farm Sports Ground is an interesting site. It was a great site for sport for generations. At one time it had 16 football pitches, 8 netball courts, 6 cricket pitches, and various other facilities. There were facilities for changing rooms and more too. However, the site has not been used for sport for over 10 years.

In the time the site has been out of use, it has been rewilded. Campaigners think it is great news and would like the site to remain wild. However, the local authority is looking to create new facilities for sport at the site. In addition, they plan on rewilding 64% of it. This is drawing the concern; why de-wild it and then have to do the rewilding again? It would disrupt the habitats and wildlife already on the site.

Whatever happens, new green space for Ealing that locals as well as visitors can enjoy will be fantastic. It could make it one of the greenest, eco-friendly boroughs in the city.
