Barking Power Station originally had three coal fired stations. However, each of them closed in time. Station C was the last to close in 1981. Since then, all three have been demolished.

In addition, the development will create a new public square, including greenery. It will be the east point of a linear park that is running through various phases of the Barking Riverside regeneration.
